The "Inst Stop" lever is a pause control which you would use to pause the tape without disengaging the record function (for instance when you are recording from an lp and changing record sides). This way there wouldn't be a "pop" on your finished tape where the tape was stopped.
Those old motors are built to last man
Thanks for your observations about the B&K 465 CRT Tester. Great explanation. At the time I was working for Sencore, a manufacturer of television servicing equipment, as a field engineer writing instruction manuals for products such as the CR70. I asked Herb Bowden, founder and then-CEO, about why he preferred using individual modules of the connections between the tester and the CRT. He told me that it was easier to add or change the CRT manufacturers' changing sockets with a plug, rather than a "plant" (my words). Although it was always a high-test environment, I still respect working with Herb as a mentor.
Do not use a Vitamix without manual or you will damage it. It is not pronounced "Veta" but "Vita" as in vitamin.
Anyone wtching in 2024?
me, Been a fan of this channel since 2018, hope he starts back blowing motors up, it was fun!
It's frustrating watching disassembly in random fashion, because it would be so much cleaner if it was done in some semblance of order. For example, @ 7:29 your left hand is covering two Philips screws that hold the top cover on. Remove those, and pull it up at rear, and slide top cover forward through (between) the handles. That gives access to what many have found to be their sole problem - the plastic/silicone rubber check valve (@13:06) held closed by calcium deposits. If I come across other seqments that depict an organized (vs. completely random) disassembly, I'll add pointers.
Any suggestions on what to do if the motor shaft doesn't spin at all? We have the 3600, which is almost identical to the one in your video. It worked fine for years, then one day just quit. The motor shaft is stuck tight.
Sounds like it may have seized up, if your good with fixing things, you can try taking it apart and freeing up the rotor, remove it clean off any old grease or crud than apply some fresh oil to the bearing wick (if it has one) than put it back together and try it.
Thank you for this video! I unscrewed those 4 screws thinking it was how I removed the top to oil the bearing, but everything shifted and dropped when I did that so I did a full overhaul following your video. It works even better than it did before now, thanks again very much.
Glad my video was able to help you.🙂

fan
3:28 this is odd, but oddly enough, the very first computer fan i got was a 24v one, so i guess im lucky since those might be rarer.
if you are wondering, it was a NMB.
anyways, it was one of these with the vent opening on the entirety of the front, meaning the air also gets sucked back in on one side, which is crap, luckily, my vintage tower fan has the vent on the right side only, meaning no air gets sucked back in. so yours was also quite bad anyways. and 14:17 LMAO IT JUST FUCKING DESTROYED ITSELF HAHAHA
What type of processor does your potato have?
What are you referring to?

where does one acquire 300 small dc motors
via salvaging and ebay lots, i myself got most of my motors (i have over 40) from leboncoin (french ebay ripoff) motor lots and salvaging, and i am going to get more very soon since i spotted another of those very rare motor lots on leboncoin again.
Hello! I have the PAPST TYP 6448 2HT which is a 48V 700mA (0.7A) fan,It has 6 wires-Red,Black,Blue,White,White with Red and White with Black,I can't seem to figure out how to turn it on(I don't want to damage it by connecting it improperly),Do you have any clues on how to power it? Thank You!
I know. Ok all computer fans has red and black wires. The red wire is a positive wire and the black wire is a negative wire. All computer fans has red and black wires. If you have a old laptop charger, Try putting a red wire to a positive pin Terminal of a dc output and the negative wire behind the pin and see if it works. I hope this helps you.
@@antresia.9723 Yeah I will definitely try that,Thank You!
@@vaishnavhm742did it work?
@@thawzinkhant1759 Yes! You can try it too, worked for me but might be slightly different for different fans.
@@vaishnavhm742 thanks!
You should do that again but with a much faster motor like we’re talking about one that can go up to 10,000 or at least
Next time, Black is "Line", White is "Neutral" and it's not a bi-directional motor, it's a simple brushless AC induction motor capable of forward and reverse rotation depending on the direction of flow applied to the Field/Stator and that is controlled with your DPDT 6 pin rocker switch. The armature, having the magnets built in the core will act according upon the field created within the stationary windings found on the stator housing walls.
Can you please explain this simple wiring to me, or perhaps tell me where I can find info like this? I've looked all over the internet and can't seem to crack the code. I have a treadmill incline motor (I'm trying to use on a project) which has an On/Off/On rocker switch that dictates the motor's direction. How do I add a momentary switch to the equation so that I can use the rocker switch to select the intended direction the motor will turn once the momentary switch is depressed?

@@JavonDevv9000 yes you are!
It cut fingers and probably everything you throw at it.
two ideas : first, if you can, can you bring back motorwars ? it was one of your best series with mixer motor matchups, and i really wanna see motorwars return. second, remember that dc motor max speed test video you made a long time ago ? what if you redo the same but with other dc motors you have right now, that could also be a good idea.
I'm glad you like the videos. The reason I haven't done new videos lately as my Canon battery doesn't hold a charge long enough to do a video for more than a few minutes (it's 12 years old now) and there's too many fake replacements that claim much higher mAh ratings only for people to come back and say its like 1/2 of the original which is 1000mAh. A proper Canon replacement is around $100, so not sure its worth spending $100+ on a 12 year old camera. I've also been busy with other things, however I do have several videos that I want to do if I ever get the camera situation sorted out.
@@HL4EHalfLife thanks for the info, i really wanna see such series return.
12 years later and i am wondering what could have happened if it burned out while inside the cascade system while its running, that would be the scariest thing possible.

Hello, what kind of bulb light does the projector use?
That's soo cool. I like this video. I'm going to make this. I have 2 NIDEC fans from the PS4. It's a NIDEC G95C12MSIAJ56J14 DC 12V 2.10A. i took a fan out of a ps3 it's a Nidec G80E12NS1ZN-56J14 12V 1.65A 3wires cooling fan. I'm still hunting down high performance fans on PS3 and PS5. I NEED TO FIND THIS FAN, 1 of NMB-MAT BG1402-B045-P00 cooling fan 12V 2.90A 3-wire De PS3 but i don't know what model number from the PS3 has this kind of fan.
